First semester classes begin normally in July with inaugural function Passed out meritorious final year Diploma students will be awarded with mementos by teachers of the polytechnic. Toppers in the I & II year students, will be awarded with medal by alumni Association of this polytechnic classes. III & V semester commence on dates notified by the college.
The Polytechnic library is having good collection of books pertaining to Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Fashion Technology and topics of general interests. The Library also provides leading newspapers and technical magazines for the benefit of students and staff. Book Bank for SC/ST students also available to facilitate better learning.
The major thrust is on the Continuing Education Cell, which encompasses the needs of the Industry, Business and community by organizing short-term programs. The cell develops and delivers programs to group of individuals Students to meet the needs of the job market. The individuals can learn the skills in positive, nurturing environment in the career-oriented programs. Short term programs are conducted for the benefit of students in order to expose to the Technological developments taking place in different sectors.
The Polytechnic staff are provided training either in-house or deputed to other institutions, periodically, for continuous updation of knowledge in their relevant fields to enhance their abilities and confidence. In addition, Management training programs are organized to motivate and facilitate learning of Art of Management and develop leadership skills. The Polytechnic Management is making efforts to promote innovation and thus improve Quality of Education through training. AICTE and ISTE sponsored staff development programs are conducted at the Polytechnic.
Management is quite aware that a person can excel in any field if he/she possesses a sound mind in a sound body Sports headed by a Qualified Physical Education Director with experience in International Sports and assisted by able staff are training our students in various games.
Annually competition games are arranged in both indoor and outdoor games in order to unearth the potential latent available among the students. These competitions encouraging the development of leadership & team sprit among the students to develop healthy environment.
Students are sent to participate in the state Inter Polytechnic sports competition
Polytechnic is keen to unearth the hidden talents in students in addition to regular academic work. Student are encouraged to arrange activities to exhibit their talents. They are supported by highly talented teaching staff. Polytechnic Students are also encouraged to participated in cultutal programs, youth festivals conducted by different organization and students have brought many laurels to polytechnic.
Staff and Students of each department organize co-curricular activities. Guest lectures, Technical Competitions, Presentations, Seminars, Group discussion by students are conducted on a regular basis. In addition eminent personalities from academic and industries are invited to bring lectures and discuss to enhance awareness in students in various fields & latest developments taking place.
The Railway/Air Concession form will be issued to the regular students of the Polytechnic to travel to their hometown only during midterm and summer vacation. Outgoing students are not entitled to avail Railway/Air concession during summer holidays.
The Polytechnic is well connected to different parts of the city by buses of the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC). Students are issued concession monthly passes with due certification from the Institution.
The large sprawling campus of M.S. Ramaiah group of Institutions has facilities like Post Office, Bank with ATM facility, Hospitals, Canteens Vehicle parking lots, etc., which help students in having a conducive environment for their comfortable stay and studies.
This cell has been sponsored by AICTE, in order to implement the program as per AICTE objectives, an advisory board has been constituted comprising personalities drawn from District industries centres, SIDBI, NABARD, LEAD BANK, INDUSTRY ASSOCIATES and R&D INSTITUTIONS.
With the support & guidance by the members of this advisory body, need based skill development programs are arranged for our students through the Cell. Keeping in view of policies which offer opportunities for sustainable self employment and also from the angle of psyche of present generation, skill development programs are conducted where in students and members of the Society are trained in the area of Fashion Technology. The Cell plans to extend skill development programs in the other areas of Engineering & Technology to promote Entrepreneurship Development.
Industry Institute interaction is one of the strong factors for development of a Technician training institution i.e. the Polytechnic.
Since the polytechnic has developed industry institute interaction to further strengthen the association AICTE has approved to set up Industry Institute Partnership Cell with the objective to reduce the gap between industry practices and academic offerings by direct involvement of industry.
The cell is guided by the advisory board setup drawing members from industries, R&D, Industry association, Training Institutes etc. This body would meet and give directions in which the cell should function for the betterment of the industries and students.
This AICTE sponsored cell has also been carrying out the activities like personality development workshop and guest lectures for students by eminent personalities short term program to benefit Polytechnic staff in different technical disciplines.
A study centre approved approved by IGNOU & ISTE has been Started to run IGNOU-ISTE courses as envisaged and as available in IGNOU-ISTE website.
The study centre conducts training Programs in the areas approved by IGNOU-ISTE and successful candidates are issued with IGNOU-ISTE certificates.
Courses are conducted utilizing the lab. Facilities available in the Polytechnic.
The thrust of the training is 70% hands on training.
